*Educational technology:
Is the use of technology in education to improve learning and teaching & it's not restricted to the education of children, nor to the use of high technology. Using high-technology to enhance learning in ( kindergarten (4-6-year-old) through 12th grade or (16-19 years old) classrooms .
Many different types of technology can be used to support, to improve student achievement. Everything from video content and digital moviemaking to laptop computing and handheld technologies computer,closed-circuit television channels, projector (data show) & even the cell phones that many students now carry with them can be used to learn have been used in classrooms as we see nowadays .
· To increase students basic skills and knowledge.
· To introduce topics, provide means for self-study.
· Offer opportunities to learn concepts which some time difficult to the student to get them.
· Support students' reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
· Can used as tool that can be useful in particular goals in the learning process.
· Can serve as a resource to help develop higher order thinking.
· Placement- do students/teacher have easy access?
· Portability- can computers be moved?
· Security- can computers be secured?
· Display- can computer be seen by all students?
· What if suddenly the computer stops working?
· Using it as part of large group activities or small group activities?
· what if you have difficulty in connecting it with some other devices such as (printer or projector "side show".)
To conclude , as a teacher what do you think ? computer is playing a big role in teaching nowadays ,will using it be useful even though you may face many issues while using it ?

Hi,
I believe that the advantages of using computer in a classroom are more much from its issues.There for, the teacher have to provide interesting exercises to do by using computer.It makes the student get rid from the formal teaching process(board,text book,sheets), and open for them a wide space to be creative.
yes i agree with you that tecnology has advantage and disadvantage,but today we have to use technology because this generation are using technology in every thing in their lifes so it is importanat to use it in education.

Teaching with such technology helps so much in learning process especially in activities. It also helps the teacher to break the routine that kills the learners enthusiastic. It provides an easy way to creates activities and games that teachers can do .

To cope with technology nowadays it is useful to use several type of it in a classroom.
Despite that many issues may face you as a teacher while using any type of technology, it is still considered as a best way for teaching especially language because in many cases it involves many skills at the same time.

For me as a future teacher ensha allah,I will use computer when I think that it will help the leaarning processes.Using computer can be more interisting for the students and some lessons may be more understandable by using the computer.
As you said, it can has disadvantages for example some students may don't like using computer or don't know how to use it.To avoid such problem we should first determine who are our students,their abilities and their needs then decide to use the computer or not.

Computer sometimes can be useful.Because The computer has been, and continues to be, an essential tool in the growth and development of all these three sectors.
Computers have helped education by providing online resources for learning. Tons of resources are now available online for people who research all kinds of topics imaginable.
Computers have allowed the telecommunications sector ease of operations, a wider audience reach, and up to date, more accurate computing.

I agree with the other posters. While there may be some problems, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Also, as others have said, this generation and the next one have grown up with technology, which may be why some students get bored so easily in a class using only the board. But I'd like to ask any of the other posters, how often can teachers use computers in class? What can a teacher do if there is only 1 computer available?
